Beyond The Blackboard

Show Guide

A young teacher, Stacey Bess (Emily Van Camp, Brothers & Sisters), gets her first professional teaching job in 1988… but it’s not what she expected. Rather than a comfortable class, in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, Utah, she is assigned to the School With No Name, a classroom in a community homeless shelter. As she fights her own fears and prejudices, she begins to examine the lives of the underprivileged children she teaches. She finds a group of children and their parents that are all in need of hope and love. Based on the memoir 'Nobody Don't Love Nobody' by Stacey Bess, Beyond The Blackboard is an inspirational story about strength of spirit and the lessons one woman learned from the most disadvantaged children in society. Also starring Treat Williams (Brothers & Sisters) and Timothy Busfield (The West Wing).
